Build one moment worth remembering
Chip and Dan Heath's point is that people don't remember an even, pleasant stretch of time, they remember the peaks. A four-day weekend where nothing stands out is forgotten by Tuesday. So engineer one small peak, an egg hunt, a make-your-own, a Friday-only bake, and that becomes the bit people photograph, talk about and come back for.

- Which of the four days actually matters?
- All of them, differently. Friday and Monday are day-out days; Sunday is the family meal. A trade van's day is the Monday, when people finally tackle the garden.
- I'm a one-person shop, I can't run an egg hunt.
- Then make the moment tiny: a single special bake, a decorated window, a free chocolate with a coffee. Small and memorable beats big and generic.
- Do I need to mention religion?
- Only if it's true to you. For most businesses Easter is a spring long weekend; be warm and open, and leave the meaning to those who mark it.
