How we got your details

We are Aceman Software Solutions Ltd. We make SocialPostxr, an app that helps small businesses post on social media without it eating their time.

Where we got your details

From public sources: booking sites like Fresha and Treatwell, local listing and guide sites like Wanderlog, Wheree and Wanderboat, Companies House, and your own website. We did not buy a list and nobody gave us your details privately.

What we hold

Your business name and address, what kind of business you are, and public information about how active you are on social media. A short note on why we thought the app might suit you, and a rating out of 25 of how good a fit we think you are. If we have spoken to you, what was said, what you told us you needed, and what happens next. If you gave us an email or a phone number, that too.

You can ask to see all of it, including the note and the rating. See below.

Why we are allowed to hold it

Our legitimate interests in finding businesses that would benefit from what we make, and offering it to them. We have written down that assessment and weighed it against your interests. If you would like to see it, ask.

We do not use your details for anything else, we do not sell them, and no computer makes any decision about you.

Who else sees it

Nobody outside our own company and our sales company, SocialPostxr Ltd, and the technology providers that run our systems for us. Everything is held in the UK or the EU.

How long we keep it

• If you do not engage with us: we keep the record while we are still trying to reach you, and we delete it when you ask. No automatic deletion runs on a timer today, so if you want it gone, tell us and we will remove it — see below for how.
• If you tell us you are not interested: up to 2 years, so we do not approach you again by accident. After that the record is reduced automatically.
• If you tell us not to contact you: we keep only your name and the fact that you said no, and we keep that indefinitely. That is the only way to be certain we never contact you again. Nothing else is kept.

What we are changing

We are building automatic deletion so these records clear themselves without anyone having to ask. Until that is running, the description above is what actually happens, and asking us is the way to be certain. This page will be updated when it changes.

What you can ask us to do

• See everything we hold about you. Including the notes and the rating. We reply within one month.
• Correct anything wrong.
• Delete it.
• Stop contacting you. You do not have to give a reason and we do not get to weigh it up. We stop, and we stop permanently.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled it

Tell us first if you can, we would rather fix it. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK regulator, at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or 0303 123 1113. You can do that whether or not you have come to us first.
